CEN was founded in 1999 by Gerry German in collaboration with Professor Gus John along with a group of lawyers, educators and social workers concerned with the level of school exclusions affecting African-Caribbean children specifically.

We have been providing nationwide hybrid services to mainly ethnic minority families, offering them advice, support, training and representation on behalf of their children who may suffer obstacles to their educational achievement specifically in some instances, permanent exclusion from mainstream school.

CEN's aspiration is to drive its intervention platform PEP (Parents Empowering Parents) to remove these obstacles for the most vulnerable, by educating and upskilling families to become proactive in securing improved outcomes for their children in education and beyond.
