CEN provides free representation* on behalf of parents/carers at governor disciplinary committee meetings (GDCs) and independent review panels (IRPs) in order to challenge educational exclusions where appropriate.
Parents feeling overwhelmed and intimidated by the exclusions process can request the support of a CEN advocate who will represent them (and their children) at these and others such as reintegration.
When possible advocates will communicate both the child and the parent ahead of meetings in order to be fully prepared.
