For too long, parents have believed that once they place their children in education they simply need to respond to schools and college communications about them. However, CEN recognises that parents must lead conversations about their children and ultimately direct their educational outcomes, themselves.

PEP – Parents Empowering Parents is the intervention tool that CEN uses to encourage parents to learn more about the education system and become proactive about their children’s learning and future prospects.

Advocacy is often sought as a last resort by parents faced with the prospect of their children being excluded from school.

However, Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) is all about early intervention which is the route all parents should seek to help their children avoid circumstances escalating to school exclusion.

PEP encourages parents to understand why it is important for them to be involved in their children’s education and provides parents with the following:

PEP Forum webinars – to inform and upskill.

Access to CENs Directory of Services – a bespoke referral and signposting tool for parents and young people
