Schools already know that intervention is the key to preventing poor attainment and persistent behaviour concerns that eventually escalate to school exclusions.  However, successful intervention requires parents to be included in early conversations about any educational or behavioural concerns that arise with their children.

Communities Empowerment Network (CEN) recognises the challenge that many schools face in their attempts to engage parents, thus our advice and support is available to school leaders who wish to learn more about how our team have successfully engaged, educated and empowered parents to appreciate that informed proactive communication and collaboration with schools is the greatest tool they can wield to ensure that their children reach their educational potential.

Our workshops are bespoke, designed in partnership with school leaders to ensure alignment with individual missions, values and school objectives.

What CEN offers is a parental perspective as our workshops are delivered to parents by parents.

CEN facilitates school workshops to encourage positive engagement between families and schools

“We have used CEN as a response to support disaffected students to improve their behaviour for learning whilst engaging the parents of those same students in more positive partnerships with the teaching staff and Leadership Team. Our school has a challenging cohort of young people and CEN has met with target group of students on a weekly or fortnightly basis to guide and counsel them in order to raise their academic achievements … CEN has achieved good results with the pupils at risk who will be able to collaborate and work more with other agencies who are also supporting these pupils who are at risk.”
